Genia Waller

Genia began dance at the age of six, embarking on her teaching journey at just 13 years old. Over the next seven years, she instructed dancers at a local dance school while simultaneously completing her high school education. At the of 25, Genia founded The Dance Factory, where she continues to foster a love for movement and artistic expression.

 

Throughout her career, she has prioritized ongoing education in various dance forms to ensure that my techniques and knowledge remain current. Genia believes deeply in the transformative power of dance to bring joy and inspiration to others. She consistently encourages her students to embrace the essence of our art with the mantra: 

 

"Keep Smiling, Keep Dancing."

Glendinning Paul

Glendinning has been dancing since the age of two, cultivating her skills in various styles.  Throughout her formative years she trained in tap, jazz, modern, ballet, and hip hop, also dancing as a member of the Spartanettes dance team at MBJH. 

 

Glendinning continued her dance education at Auburn University, where she majored in both art and dance. During her time at Auburn, she actively participated in numerous productions with the Auburn University Theatre Department, notably in performances such as "Gotta Dance" and "Meaning in Motion," a unique show that intertwined dance with art exhibitions at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of Auburn’s hip hop dance team, AU Rhythm, for three years, during which they gained a reputation as a crowd favorite at pep rallies, campus events, and competitions.

She continues her dance training and education by being an active member of Alabama Dance Council, attending the Alabama Dance Festival, and performing with local dance groups like Magic City Performing Arts. Her recent credits include The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Ballet in the Park. 

 

Glendinning has been with The Dance Factory since 2013 and is passionate about educating and inspiring her students. Glendinning lives with her husband and six year old son, James, while also working as a visual artist. www.glendinningpaulart.com

Jeninne Poe

Jeninne has been passionate about dance since the age of six, studying various forms including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Tumbling. Her love for dance was profoundly influenced by her grandmother, a talented dancer herself, who inspired her to pursue this art form from a young age. 

 

Throughout her educational journey, Jeninne had the privilege of studying under Ms. Genia's guidance, starting in elementary school and continuing through high school. In 1991, she began her teaching career at The Dance Factory under Ms. Genia's direction. 

 

Jeninne takes great pleasure in teaching students of all ages and skills across diverse dance styles. She says the most rewarding aspect of her role as an educator is witnessing the joy and enthusiasm her students bring to class, and she considers each of them to be part of her extended family.

Cailin Koenig

Cailin has been immersed in the world of dance since the age of two. Growing up, she was influenced by her mother, a long-time instructor The Dance Factory, which ingrained a deep passion for dance in her life. Cailin began student teaching at twelve and transitioned to a full teaching role by the age of nineteen. Her choreography experience includes projects for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), various private events, and senior solo performances. Cailin is dedicated to lifelong learning and continuously seeks to expand her knowledge of dance techniques and skills. She remains actively engaged in professional development, ensuring she stays current with the latest trends and methodologies in the dance industry. With an unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for dance, Cailin gives her all when teaching her students. STUDENT TEACHERS

In our dance studio, student teachers play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience for all dancers. They assist our experienced instructors during classes, providing support and guidance to students they explore their passion for dance. With their enthusiasm and knowledge, student teachers help create a positive and encouraging environment, making sure every dancer feels confident and motivated. Their dedication not only enriches the class but also fosters a sense of community our studio.
